Yeah my first experience windows 10 in s mode free S mode has been less than optimal. Sure I like that it's more secure, but its at the expense windows 10 in s mode free being forced to use a App Store that simply isn't filling in those gaps. Also you can't run CMD. Unfortunately it's not. Like most things Microsoft does this is one step forward two steps back. Over the last several years Microsoft has become an absolute mess. S mode functionality mose should be called dysfunctionality and Windows activation errors. God forbid you purchased an upgrade key to go to Pro from home S mode. I chose it because I was very happy with the Surface 3, but this S windows 10 in s mode free has turned me against Microsoft computers. It came with S Mode as does most cheaper low end laptops. I gave it a solid try over a couple weeks and honestly the only thing that caused me to upgrade to Windows Home was the lack of apps available in the Windows Store. If you are going to rely solely on a apps store to install software you have to provide users with a complete App's Store filled with Apps that users want to use.
The first time you have to go outside of that for a application you will be forced to opt out of the S Mode. I definitely think the winvows is a good one for security, but it's been so poorly implemented and supported that most won't stick it out with S mode for very long.
Like many other companies today, 's' mode is meant to make it easier for microsoft to "Data-Mine, Phish, and More user's activities so they can make money from selling that information. Same reason microsoft tries to convince you to "stay signed-in" in mail apps!! Its easy to switch out just buy a new key. But I bought my Smode pc because it was cheap. Windows S mode restricts your pc so that they can sell it for less.
