Let me be clear: The console version is techincally better, having more gameplay variety with the driving and rails-shooter sections, which this doesn't have. The console version is also better from a presentation standpoint with the cutscenes and some animation. Story: Nightfire for PC lacks polish in a few areas. The cutscenes aren't great, except for the ones taken from the console version, and there are a few of those.

The cutscenes exclusive to this version aren't as well animated, the the story itself isn't told as well here. You do get the same basic story with the exception of exclusive levels and story bits, which hardcore fans will wanna see, but it's still servicable. Graphics: I can't comment on the graphics because the game crashed on me when I went to change the settings. I assume if you have a PC with a dedicated GPU you'll be able to change the graphical settings no problem. That being said, the entire game was playable on the default settings, so if you PC's specs match mine, don't worry about completing the game.

Sound: All of the guns sound great, the acting is great, and the soundtrack is fantastic. No complaints here; its got fantastic audio! As stated above, there aren't any driving or on-rails sections in this version, so the entire game is FPS, with some third-person "actions" such as climbing across wires to get across gaps or scaling the villain's Japanese corporate building.

These sections are a short and are used to get across to get around the levels, but its better that they have them to give the levels a little more life and depth. You'll use a combination of action and stealth, which are both handled extraordinarily well! The shooting is fun and never gets tiring, the sections that need you to be stealthy require you to really use your skills not the level of Splinter Cell, but still great.

The controls are excellent as well, allowing you to easily execute the actiony and stealthy sections. Getting that perfect headshot on an unexpected enemy is as satisfying as it was in Goldeneye for the N64! Like every other Bond game on console or PC, Nightfire PC has sections that combine the stealth and action, where if the enemies aren't aware of your presence, you can silently take them out to progress, but if you get caught you won't be penalized.

There are two missions that require stealth, but as mentioned above, they're excellent, and after the stealthier sections, you get more action. The game also has great pacing; giving you medium to smaller and then to bigger locations, so that you don't feel like you're playing similar stages.

Verdict: Is it better than the console version? On a technical level, no. The console version has the different gameplay modes and a fantastically customizable multiplayer mode! Damn I miss playing this game. Especially the multiplayer and using Oddjob's hat :D Would be a great port for sure! I'm pretty sure it would be easy to re-do.
